Christin To (b. Germany) is an architectural designer, product designer and co-founder of MAT-TER_Design+Build Studio. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley in 2007 and has worked at Morphosis Architects in Santa Monica, CA prior to continuing her architectural education at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University where she received her Masters of Architecture in 2013. Christin’s academic work has been featured in the GSD’s annual student publications, and under MAT-TER her professional work has gained press coverage in numerous publications including Forbes, ArchDaily, Dwell, Le Monde, and AIA CC Academy of Emerging Professionals.  MAT-TER’s recent design concept for the Guiuan National High School, Philippines has won first place in the crowd-sourced design challenge through OOAC in response to the Typhoon Haiyan disaster in November 2013 to create better functioning, more resilient schools for communities in disaster prone places around the world.
